About Stacy Clark
Hello. A creative writer and brand storyteller, I am also a mother of two daughters, a runner of half marathons, a second degree black belt, and a volunteer for a nonprofit bringing dogs and kids together to foster reading. Partway through a decades-long, award-winning career as a copywriter and creative director, I went back to school in scenic Vermont and earned an MFA in Creative Writing. I began teaching college-level English and adult memoir writing soon after, and served as the creative nonfiction editor for a literary magazine.
I have crafted the stories of brands new and known, from a local artisan pizza café to internationally renowned resorts, and my creative nonfiction writing has been featured in numerous literary and newsstand publications. After adopting my younger daughter, I co-created the first line of greeting cards for uplifting the adoption journey, bringing strategy and storytelling to product copy and social content, press and podcasts. Whatever the form, my writing explores and illuminates the beauty and humanity we share along life's journey.
Specialties

A longtime award-winning creative director and copywriter, I have built brand stories for clients and products in industries from real estate and publishing to fitness, education and retail. Bringing together high-level concepts, engaging copy and an eye for detail, I have led creative teams to win Addy and Excel awards. Past work includes light, informative copy for parenting publications, creative concepts for multi-media campaigns, stories and storyboards for video animations, enticing product descriptions, social media captions and microblogs. When you need to captivate and connect, I bring the words.
As a literary nonfiction writer, former editor, and teacher, I seek to read, write and empower stories that illuminate something true and beautiful about the human experience. I have extensively studied and taught the art and craft of memoir, and my writings have appeared in magazines, blogs, anthologies and literary journals, been curated on Medium and shortlisted for both the VanderMey Nonfiction Prize and the Curt Johnson Prose Awards. While I often write about my own chance encounters and unexpected connections, I am also here to bring the courage and compassion into your real-life stories.
